This 4K video (our first!) shows an hourly Changing of the Guard in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Hellenic Parliament in Syntagma Square, Athens, Greece. The guards are changed every hour on the hour 24 x 7. As you can see in the video, each change takes over seven minutes.

LEGO Americana Road Show – Staten Island Mall

The LEGO Americana Road Show features highly detailed scale models of key American landmarks in Boston, NYC, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. LEGO Master Builders built these intricate recreations of the White House, Capitol, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, Washington Monument, North Church, Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall out of thousands of LEGO Blocks, over the course of thousands of hours. Also featured are two LEGO cities, a mall, and space launch.

NYC Rainbows, Fog

This morning, a single low arch rainbow stretched from Jersey City into Manhattan. The rainbow lasted at least 20 minutes. Last Sunday started out with heavy fog and ceilings as low as 400 feet.

New Years Eve 2016 Fireworks

After the ball dropped, the New Years Eve 2016 Fireworks went off in New York Harbor. The show lasted about 15 – 20 minutes. I got this sequence handheld at f/8 and 1/10 second, using the top of the window pane as a rest.

Niagara Falls Rainbows

We spent much of the day simply gazing at Niagara Falls rainbows…

Christmas Pea Soup Fog – Calling Rudolph …

Christmas Pea Soup Fog – visibility less than 1/8th of a mile and ceilings below 100 feet. CAT III ILS minimums. We need a certified aircraft and a specially certified pilot to fly this. We need Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

White Concrete Christmas NYC 2015

As temperatures soared into the 70s yesterday, we here in NYC had what I call a White Concrete Christmas – and quite frankly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

CN Tower – SEE IT

Even though skyscrapers in Asia and the Gulf States have eclipsed CN Tower, the Skypod or Nacelle remains the tallest observatory in the entire Western Hemisphere to this day. In the Western Hemisphere it’s CN Tower that still rules the sky.

Impressionist Sunset – SEE IT

This dusk, we saw an Impressionist Sunset that rivals the works of Monet. The sky was lit in blazing hues of yellow and orange, giving way to red and pink. I took these shots with Elsy at home, on Van Buren, and Lafayette Streets, Richmond Terrace, and Clinton Ave.

The Road to Toronto – SEE IT

The Road to Toronto for me began years ago when I was planning this trip and for one reason or another just never did it – until now. Elsy and I had been planning a trip to Toronto as part of our trip to Niagara Falls. We were actually going to spend two night in Niagara Falls, then spend a night in Toronto and head home. We decided to cut costs and cancelled the overnight stay in Toronto, which we turned into a day trip. It was kind of risky. It was already 1:00 when we left. Would we hit traffic and be stuck for hours? The hotel concierge was ambivalent about counseling us to do it. Well, we did and it turned out to be one of our best decisions ever and a big highlight of our trip….
